How I Can Help

A personalized plan for stronger reading foundations.

Every child begins with a literacy assessment to understand their unique reading needs. From there, a Tailored Literacy Intervention Program provides a consistent framework that is individualized to your child's strengths, needs, and progress.

Tailored Literacy Intervention Program

Choose a 4- or 8-week cycle

One personalized program with two ways to begin.

Every program begins with a literacy assessment and an individualized plan focused on the foundational skills your child needs most. Families can begin with a four-week Foundation Cycle or choose an eight-week Growth Cycle for more time to teach, practise, observe, and adjust.

What a Typical Week Looks Like

Each cycle is designed around five reading sessions per week, with each session lasting approximately 20–30 minutes. Families complete these sessions at home using the individualized activities, guidance, and materials provided through the program.

Families may also add one-on-one literacy sessions with Annie for direct instruction and additional support. These sessions are scheduled and priced separately.

This consistent weekly rhythm gives children regular opportunities to practise new skills while helping families build confident reading routines at home.

Build an individualized intervention plan with clear priorities.

Use targeted instruction and consistent practice at home.

  5. 5

    Reassess

Compare progress and identify appropriate next steps.

Understanding the Cycles

Meaningful progress can begin within either cycle.

The four-week Foundation Cycle provides a focused starting point and an opportunity to evaluate early progress. The eight-week Growth Cycle allows more time for skills to develop through repeated teaching and practice. At the end of either cycle, progress is reviewed and next steps are decided together.

Teach

Literacy skills are introduced explicitly and built in a carefully planned sequence.

Practice

Repeated opportunities to apply new learning help skills become more accurate, confident, and automatic.

Observe

Progress becomes clearer over multiple sessions, allowing meaningful patterns of growth to emerge.

Adjust

Ongoing observations help refine instruction so the next steps are guided by evidence rather than guesswork.

Eight weeks provides a meaningful starting point, not a finish line. Some children achieve their goals within that time, while others benefit from continued support. Any recommendation to extend the program is based on your child's progress and your family's goals.

Ways to Work Together

Choose the level of direct support that fits your family.

Every option includes the same individualized program and parent guidance. The difference is how much direct instruction I provide.

Parent-Led

Guidance for confident families

I assess, plan, and explain the program. Your family leads the regular instruction and practice at home.

May be a good fit when:

  • You feel comfortable leading reading activities.
  • You can provide consistent practice at home.
  • You want guidance without regular one-on-one sessions.

Families can contact me to discuss how the program is going.

More Direct Support

More instruction from me

I provide a greater share of the targeted instruction while parents reinforce skills and reading routines between sessions.

May be a good fit when:

  • Your child needs more direct support.
  • Your time for formal instruction is limited.
  • You can reinforce skills between sessions.

Frequency is agreed upon together and depends on availability.

One-on-One Literacy Sessions

Additional support when your family needs it.

Families choosing Shared Support or More Direct Support may add one-on-one literacy sessions. The number and frequency of sessions are decided together based on your child's needs, your family's availability, and my schedule.
